Kimbo x
America’s Cup
How Mongoose brought Kimbo and the America’s Cup together around coffee, culture and a shared global ambition.
Harnessing constraints
With major categories like finance and fashion already locked up by existing partners, we used our deep event knowledge and Italian cultural insight to narrow a heavily restricted market down to an opportunity that made perfect sense: coffee.
A global match made in Naples
The America’s Cup is heading to Naples, a city and people that we know will embrace one of world’s oldest and most prestigious sporting competitions.
That’s because this event carries real cultural weight in Italy. The Cup’s Italian Luna Rossa team evokes Ferrari-like passion, while the port city of Naples is the perfect size for an event of this type to feel like the biggest show in town.
Our brief was to find a brand that could harness that emotion and make the America’s Cup feel truly Neapolitan - without making it feel less global.
Integral to Neapolitan life
An official coffee partner could play a legitimate cultural and experiential role in how athletes, guests and fans experienced the event. Our search led naturally to Kimbo. Born and bred around Naples’ coffee culture, this was a brand with deep local roots, ambitious enough to take on the America’s Cup.
We aligned the opportunity to their growth ambitions, created a compelling package, and brought both sides together to make the partnership happen.
Official Coffee of the America’s Cup
In Kimbo, the America’s Cup has a partner that will make Naples feel like home. Beginning with the first Preliminary Regatta in Sardinia in 2026, through to the America’s Cup Match in Naples in July 2027, Kimbo will serve athletes, teams, partners and guests across the competition – seen, tasted, shared and experienced by hundreds of thousands of race visitors.
